Hean Shodan, is similar to the Taikyuko katas in it's I pattern, however it begins to introduce more variety of technigues and combinations. This kata uses a gedan uke (groin block) followed by a soto uke (outside block) as well as moving from zenkutsu dachi (forward stance) to neko ashi dachi (cat stance).
